Hi Gaveston14

I would probably simply say that someone is "a math lecturer."

Dear, it is ok in conversation but in written english, when we wish to state the designation of the individual which preposition is correct, in or of?

Hi Gaveston

To me, saying "in" suggests "in a particular department" (and in this case, that would be the Maths Department).

Saying "of" suggests multiple types of mathematics (or mathematics in general).
