In or into?

I got in, closed the door, and threw up in/into a vase.

Is 'in' fine or should it be 'into'?

anonymous Is 'in' fine "In" is usual, I'd say. anonymous should it be 'into'? "Into" works, too, but I think it overemphasizes the choice of receptacle unless there is a reason to emphasize it.
