"In" the database. Think of the database as a chest of drawers, with the data in the drawers.

Can I ask 2 further questions?

Someone suggests I should drop the second "the", ie:
the vacancy database of the ABC University (wrong)

the vacancy database of ABC University (correct)

Why?
Is this because we have the first "the", so people will know we are talking about a particular database of a particular university?

Will the answer chnage, if:
I write University of ABC instead of ABC University
?

Either one can be correct, it depends on what the customary use is.

In most cases it would but I'm sure there are exceptions out there.

In California, for example, you would say "the database of the University of California at Los Angles" but "the database of UCLA"

Are there employers other than ABC?
