in motion/progress

Hello,
Which one would sound better in: "It's too late. His plan is already in progress/motion"? I think that "progress" sounds better and I'd probably go with it.

They both sound OK, but I think you could also use 'is already underway' or 'has already been implemented'.

Would "in process" sound better than "in motion/in progress"? I came across a few examples where "process" was used. Hmm... I can't find many sentences in which "progress" is used. I know you said it sounded OK, but do people avoid "progress" in that collocation?

I don't see any great advantage or disadvantage in any of those choices, frankly. If anything, I would use 'progress' before 'motion'.
