In these day and age, the increasing use of mobile phones apps to pay for things has become a hot topic of debate. From my perspective, while this trend brings some disadvantages for individuals, its advantages are more significant.
On the one hand, it is disadvantageous to pay for bills with the help of mobile apps in a few aspects. The first reason is that it is not suitable with the elderly. Older people tend to adapt to new things slowly, especially technologies, including smartphone and a wide variety of applications; therefore, they are not used to using apps and have difficulties in paying for what they buy. Another reason is that there may be some risks in sending money online. You may transfer your money to the wrong person and in the worst case, the receiver may not return it and you will loss your money.
On the other hand, paying for things using cellphone apps can be bring lots of benefits. Primarily, it can make our paying process more convenient since we do not have to bring money with us when going to the supermarkets. At the same time, the cashier does not have to give you the change as you send the exact amount of money, which helps to save time. In China, people are used to paying for what they buy easily and quickly by using a specialized app and scanning the QR code. Another reason I want to mention is that you can be charged less amount of money when shopping online. This sound surprising but some online shopping platforms, for example, Shopee or Lazada, provide more vouchers for those who pay money by their special apps. This helps buyers feel satisfied and have better shopping experience.
In conclusion, I believe that the benefits of using apps to pay for things are more significant than the drawbacks.
