'In' instead of 'to'?

Hello,

Is it possible to use 'in' in these sentences below ( and in similar sentences too)instead of 'to'?

I went in college.
I went in university.
I went in bed.
I went in hospital.

So the word 'hospital' is the only one exception? I haven't included; church, prison, factory, and other similar words.

I haven't included; church, prison, factory, and other similar words. 'In' doesn't sound right with these.

You can't say 'to factory'. Say eg '

These may vary from country to country. In the U.S. you have these.

I went to college. (I attended college to pursue a degree.)

I went to the university. (I walked or drove to the campus of the university.)

I went to bed.
