Does this sentence make sense:



"Put the colonel in hirance."




And would it make sense to say:




"Put the colonel in hidrance."

Neither 'hirance' nor 'hidrance' are in any dictionary that I can find. Where did you encounter them? Even if it's a typo for 'hindrance' it makes no sense to me.
