In future or in the future

Is it "in future" or "in THE future"?

If both are possible, do they mean the same thing?

If not, when should I use each of them?

Would you please give me some examples?

Thank you

The meaning is identical.

Use "in future" only in regions where British English is spoken. You hear it very rarely in N
