In figure 3-6..Figure 3-14 shows..etc. How to read?

Hi,

I have been reading programming books lately and I have wondered how to read numbers refering to diagrams and figures.
Is there a special way to do that? Here is my try, what do you think about it?

"In Figure 3-6 it indicates that the Properties tool window will appear..." (In Figure three six... or In Figure three dash six...)
"Figure 3-14 shows the Keyboard node..." (Figure three fourteen...)

CliveI usually just say, and hear, 'figure three fourteen'.

usually i say it as three fourteen..no need to say dash.

In my country I would say 'dash'. Or something like 'In figure five point two' (Figure 5.2).
Isn't that something?
