Hello everyone,

1. Is the phrase "in favour of" used correctly in the following sentence?

The referee took a foul in favor of Manchester United team.

2. Is it okay if I add the definite article "the" before "favour" as follows?

The referee took a foul in the favour of LA Galaxy team.
