The typical position of in fact is at the beginning of a sentence, but it is not wrong at the end, as you have it in your first example.

Sorry, one last question to go.

a) I have driven too fast, in fact.

In this sentence, is the comma absolutely necessary?

Can I write it without the comma?

Thinking SpainCan I write it without the comma?
No, I would not do that if I were you. You want to keep everything clear.

I have driven too fast in ...

could be followed by

my new car.

The comma signals that you're not using "in" that way, but starting a new phrase.
