In English writing, is it necessary to put the comma before like in the sentence

I am confused if the comma is used before like as preposition, for example in the sentence: : I do not want to spend much time on entertainment, like movies, music.

Thank you!

That is a difficult decision. It depends on how restrictive the writer considers the example to be. It is more often omitted, I think: entertainment like movies and music.
