In construction

- These 2 sentences was said by 2 different wives:

"My man does construction"
"My man is in construction"

- These 2 sentences mean "Their 2 husbands work in construction field but maybe they're workers or engineers", right?

Maybe they were married to the same guy! The one who does construction is clearly a labourer. The other one probably is too, as people often use this very unspecific expression, hoping the listener will assume they have a much better position then they actually do.
