I totally agree. You can't be in charge of consequences as they are often outside of ones control. You defiantly can be responsible for them and answerable for them but never in charge of them. It even seems a bit of an oxymoron to me, for to be in charge of the consequences things have to go wrong to empower you!
Someone else is in charge of the consequences you face. Maybe not even a someone, but nature or the laws of physics.
If I drop my mobile phone into a sink full of soapy water, the consequence is water-logged phone. I'm responsible for the phone falling (I shouldn't try to talk and do dishes at the same time). But I'm not the one who decided that gravity pulls my phone down or that water
