Dear teachers,

Are the following sentences correct ?

a) I HAVE always KEPT candles in the house in case there IS / SHOULD BE is a power cut.
b) I HAD always KEPT candles in the house in case there WAS / SHOULD HAVE BEEN (?) a power cut.
c) In case someone SHOULD ASK / ASKS / ASKED (?) I WAS never here.
d) They are rewriting the proposal SO THAT it not CONTRADICT new zoning laws.

Actually, all the possible answers in a, b, and c are correct. The differences are shadings of tense and possibility. Your example c does have a word missing--"so that it (does or will) not contradict..."
