In case of

Hello!
I have several questions here so if you are willing to help me I would be very grateful.

1) Should I put A before 'patient'?
2) Is the overall meaning clear or should I put instead of 'for' the expression 'in case of'?

It is estimated that if patient is in supine position the collection of the air in pneumothorax will be in up-front, and for pleural effusion liquid will collect down-back in the pleural space.

Thanks
