In bouts

How would you phrase these 2 sentences naturally? Is bout correct?

I don't really have a sleeping pattern. I sometimes sleep during the day sometimes at night. It's in bouts.

I have OCD. It’s in bouts. There are months on end when I really have the urge to clean non stop and months when it isn’t as bad.

Thank you

" The way you're trying to use it is not right - although the second sentence might be used with it. The 2 sentences should be, for example: I have random sleeping habits. Sometimes I sleep during the day, sometimes at night.

The word "bouts" is only used in the construction, "...bouts of...", as in "He has frequent bouts of lethargy." The way you're trying to use it is not right - although the second sentence might be used with it. The 2 sentences should be, for example:

I have random sleeping habits. Sometimes I sleep during the day, sometimes at night. It's never in a regular pattern.
