Grammar

in bed or on bed

Which is correct between these two sentences:

1. He is in bed.

2. He is on bed.

If both are correct, is there any difference in meaning? Again, thank you so much.

He is in bed = He is probably sleeping. It is probably night. It may also be daytime and he may be sick. He is not on the bedspread.
