In advance OR beforehand

Which one is forma please?

I would like/like to enrich my English vocabulary with new words from time to time.

samerrustom Which one is forma please? Both are standard; 'in advance' tends to be more formal because its roots lie in Latin, while 'beforehand' is Old English/Germanic in origin. This difference holds true for many pairs of synonyms, so please keep it in mind before posting similar questions.
