In adjustment with?

Hi! everyone.
Could you tell me what "in adjustment with" mean here? or could you swap it for some another phrase?
Santiago hooked the fish with his lines or wires in adjustment with the depth and flow of the water and speed of his boat.
Thanks!

That's not a commonly used expression, but it means 'in order to adjust for'. So, another way to say it would be "Santiago hooked the fish with his line (in such a way)in order to adjust for the depth and flow of the water, as well as the speed of his boat".
