We can trace obesity back to digestive imbalance in a few ways that are changing how scientists and doctors view this pervasive, epidemic condition - and changing their view of what was once thought to be our useless bacterial inhabitants.

--- I don't get the part about doctors and scientists. I understand only that obesity can be traced back to digestive imbalance and that doctors and scientists do not see bacteria any longer as useless inhabitants of our bodies.
