Hi,

If somebody phones your wife at home but she is unfortunately not at home, would you say to him, "I'm sorry but she is not in right now"? Would you say "in" even if it's not a workplace?

Oh, I know, Philip. That's basic. It's just that "in" sounded a bit too out of place as I heard and used "in" in my office in the U.S. too often. I was just wondering how "in" could be used elsewhere.
