Dear teachers,
Could you please let me know whether there is any difference in meaning between the following two sentences?
(1) Labor shortage will be a major limitation to our economic growth in 10 years.
(2) Labor shortage will be a major limitation to our economic growth in the next 10 years.
Some say (1) means it will happen just after 10 years, while (2) means it will happen within 10 years.
Thanks and best regards,
David Kim
Some say (1) means it will happen just after 10 years, while (2) means it will happen within 10 years. That's reasonable. I would have to agree.
