Improving speaking skill with a native speaker

Hello!
My English is between the intermadiate and the advanced level. I think I know a lot of things from the grammar. What I mostly would like to improve is my speaking skill. I have an opportunity to meet with a native speaker with the aim of practising each other's languages every week. I have tried to make some role plays and I usually have some topic from the life sometimes they are very good to talk about. But sometimes I run out of ideas.
Please give me some advice (some technics) how I could make good conversations so how I could take an advante of this opportunity to improve my English.
Thanks!

How about meeting at a museum or a historic place in your city and talk about the things that are there? In museums you can find many things to talk about - and its related history, philosophy and science. You can discuss your impressions and what you like or don't like.
