improving or improve?

Hello,

I am not sure whether I should write to improving or to improve.

The development of new and more updated technologies has contributed to improving the quality of deaf people’s lives.

Thanks for your help.

to improving. You are actually writing 'contributed to' not 'to improving'. If you look at it that way it won't sound odd to you any more.
