improving my sentence
Should I add "that was" to this sentence to improve it and make it sound better? and is it clear that Kitiara was only in command of the contingent of blue dragons?
When Tarsis then came under attack by the Red Dragonarmy and a contingent of blue dragons (that was) commanded by the Dragon Highlord Kitiara Uth Matar, Alhana fled with Sturm through the city’s streets.

You can simply say "dragons commanded by..." or you could say "dragons which were commanded by..."
You can simply say "dragons commanded by..." or you could say "dragons which were commanded by..."
