ETERNAL PLEDGE

BY THE BELIEVERS OF

KAIMYO-IN



On this auspicious day, , during the General Meeting in regard to the doubling of the number of the Bodhisattvas of the Earth, we, believers of Kaimyo-in, would like make seven eternal pledges in the presence of our 68th High Priest.





We pledge



  1. To hold in reverence and strictly protect the Three Treasures of Buddhism of Sowing in NICHIREN SHOSHU and to uphold pure faith in Dai-Gohonzon of the Three Great Secret Laws, which constitutes the basis of this teaching.

  2. To sincerely follow the guidance of our High Priest, who alone possesses the Law, which has been transmitted to the successive High Priests since True Buddha Nichiren Daishonin’s advent and to comply with the traditional teachings.

  3. To forge ahead toward our near objective of achieving five thousand descendants of the Bodhisattvas of the Earth in Singapore in the year 2009, which is the 750th Anniversary of Revealing the Truth and Upholding Justice through the Submission of the Rissho Ankoku Ron, and our ultimate objective of the achievement of Kosen-rufu in Singapore by following the guidance of NICHIREN SHOSHU, promoting true Itai-doshin and unity between priests and laity, and performing shakubuku.

  4. To make pilgrimage to and to protect the Head Temple Taisekiji, the fundamental place of our faith.

  5. To fulfil the mission of achieving lasting peace and security of based on the principle of “Securing the Land through Establishing True Buddhism” as good citizens of by discarding the slandering teachings and upholding the Mystic Law.

  6. To make an eternal effort in transmitting the faith to the next generation, by maintaining, protecting and prospering our Kaimyo-in as its affiliated believers.

  7. To form a Hokkeko Chapter at an early date which originates from faith of Hokkeko believers in Atsuhara and to fulfil our faith based on the master-and-disciple relationship by sincerely following our guiding master, who is the Chief Priest of Kaimyo-in.

#1 I would be inclined to leave "prospering" - it is a good enough word to indicate that you want the temple to grow and prosper.

#2 If you write this sentence as: "As affiliated believers of the Kaimyo-in, we will make unceasing efforts to......", then I think you will find the phrase is fine. Your sentence is ok - it does not need to be changed. It is another way of saying the same thi
