Improvements for sentece
.. I write a sentence of my cover letter,that I feel it needs some improvements..
I am not sure what is better “IF I WERE GIVEN THE OPPURTUNITY” OR “IF I HAD THE OPPURTUNITY” what is more formal..?
And I also feel that there are many END in this sentence..i also thought I could replace some ends with & sign..but I don’t know if it is nice/right to have in the same sentence END +&.
Any ideas are kindly welcomed. Thanks in advance!!!!

If I were given the opportunity to collaborate with the ENGINEERING Directorate, through this specific position, I strongly believe that I would effectively contribute to the further development and implementation of Audit procedures, follow-up and control of programs and action plans and drafting policies. Specifically, I feel my skills would greatly assist the Design, planning & evaluation of inspections, logistical support unit to achieve their goals.
