Improvement (always)
It is very common to find "mejoramiento" (improvement) for almost everything in Spanish, now it is my problem: translating a Spanish text into English I find myself with so many "improvement"... please help!
"In 2005, general maintenance activities were carried out and a comprehensive program for the physical and technological improvement of the Hall of Residence was prepared, including the improvement of outdoors (perimeter fence, padlocks, lights), building and indoors (walls, eaves, gutters, drainspouts, room doors, among others) and mainly, the installation of the ADSL Internet system.... "
Is it better "refurbishing" instead of the 1st "improvement"?
I am almost sure that the 2nd improvement should be another word, because I don't know if "outdoors" can be "improved" .
There is a 3rd "improvement" in that paragraph, but I am going to eliminate it.
