Imprint

Hi,

When I paint my toe nails and I forget to use toe separators, some of the nail polish gets onto my skin. Could I use the word 'imprint'?

"I painted my toe nails but I wasn't careful enough and some of the nail polish imprinted on my toes." (the nail polish from one toe nail ends up on the side of the toe next to it)

Thank you.
