Implied meaning when using Past perfect and Present Perfect
Please help me to convey the following meaning - I want to say that I am interested in jazz because I heard Charlie Parker one day and because my uncle prior to that time and also at the moment of my hearing Charlie Parker for the first time was the art director and he still is one, he never ceased to be an art directir. so "Having been born in a musical family, I had long been listening to jazz when I heard Charlie Parker (my uncle himself had been an art director) or should I say ( my uncle himself has been an art director) if I want to convey that that he was an art director prior to the momment of my hearing Parker and also after that moment he continued to be the art director and now he also art director. Thanks a lot for your kindly advice.
