I prefer B. "Implicit" means "implied". "Adulterated" (mind the typo!) means "mixed (with)", so its opposite would be something like "pure"

I think it is C.

Implicit: not directly expressed. Its antonym: directly expressed; having no ambiguity. i.e. unequivocal.

Overt: not hidden, concealed. Its antonym: concealed.

Careful, Jeff: C is "abstract"!

Should be B. "Implicit" is the antonym of "explicit". And "overt" is a synonym of "explicit".

PieanneCareful, Jeff: C is "abstract"!

hehe Thank you, Pieanne. My mistake.

But something covert is not the same as soemthing not directly expressed.

Don't link "covert" with "covered"... "Covert" means "implied", which is the total antonym of "implicit".

"Covert" means "implied", which is the total antonym of "implicit".

Pieanne, did you also make a flub here?-- Implied is an antonym of implicit?
