imperative verbs when reproting conditionals

Hello everyone, I have a question about imperative verbs when reproting conditionals. For example:
"If you see John, send my congratulations to him," she said to me.
I know that we often report it into : She told me to send her congratulations to him if I saw him"
But what if I put the if clause into the front, which tense should the verb "send" be in? : She told me if I saw him, (send/ sent) her congratulations to him.
Thank you everyone
