Imperative?

You say Tell me!, and I think this is an imperative.

Which do you say This is an imperative, or This is in an imperative form? Is either one okay?

Top answer

Both are okay, also 'imperative clause/sentence'. Imperative is one of the four clause types; the others being declarative, interrogative and exclamative. They are differentiated by their internal structure.
