‘Impaired kidney and liver function’ or ‘kidney impairment and liver malfunction’?

Which expression in the given sentence should I choose?

Among the symptoms of the Ebola virus disease are (impaired kidney and liver function, kidney impairment and liver malfunction).

I think kidney impairment and liver malfunction is the more proper expression. Am I correct?
