Immigration-luggage-customs

Hi there! Can someone tell me when it comes to airport arrivals terminal what Immigration, Luggage and Customs mean? Although I know the meaning of each word, I am not sure about which step of the process after landing each one refers to.

I'm not an expert. "Customs" has to do with the transporting of merchandise across an international border. "Immigration" has to do with people crossing the border.

"Customs" has to do with the transporting of merchandise across an international border.
"Immigration" has to do with people crossing the border.
"Luggage" is whatever a person brings with him on a flight, domestic or international.

I haven't personally gone through this lately.
I would assume you first pick up your luggage at "baggage

In most international airports, you pass through Immigration (show passport), collect your Luggage (at the conveyor belt)and then go through Customs (where you may be asked to open your bags to declare anything). It's all labeled.
