Immense vs gigantic

"Immense building" and "gigantic building, which one gives you an impression that it is larger? Thanks in advance!

Hi I think most people would accept either. However, to be strict, 'immense' is best used with one dimension but gigantic is best used with three: - The building rose to an immense height [= when measuring it in just one way] - It was a gigantic building [= when looking at it in every way] - It took an immense time to build; the cost was immense - The concrete panels they used were gigantic; the crane they needed was gigantic Dave

Hi,
The difference between the two lies in the usage of each. Gigantic is used for describing a large sized item, whereas, immense is used for none physical concepts.

Ex. Gigantic building/car/ stadium
Ex. Immense value/ wealth/talent/benefit/pride/joy
