Vocabulary

immediately before the shift

Hi,
If I replace "immediately before the shift and immediately after the shift" by "at the shift start and at the shift end", Does it convey the same meaning?
"Participants carried out computer tests immediately before the shift (second session) and immediately after the same shift (either night or day shift).

Thank you!
