immanence

Can anybody explain please what "immanence" implies in this context? "being present in all places" or "being an inherent part"?

In Nancy’s overall project... community is neither a community of subjects, nor a promise of immanence, nor a communion of individuals in some higher or greater totality.

Immanence is used in philosophy and theology in a number of different ways. It is impossible to say exactly what is meant here. The language is obscure.
