Image, picture and illustration
What is the differences between the words image, picture and illustration? Are the all totally interchangable??

When I hear "picture" I think about museum, big wood frame and about that what that frame consists. When I hear "illustration" I think about books, about that color (or not) things which "dillutes" "dry" text. When I hear word "image" I immediatly think about some small things.

I have always thought of an illustration as a visual explanation for something. Like the pictures in a kid's picture book - there is usally one line and a picture that helps explain the line and it makes learning easier.

picture and image are alomst interchangeable. In some cases, the word illustration can be the same as picture and image.
