I'm wondering if there's a word for...

I was wondering lately if there was a word for someone who acknowledges that a god/gods exist, but does not worship them.

Thing is, there's this character who claims atheist tendency, which I think is wrong, because they still admit that the gods exist, and even knowingly interact with these gods on some level.

Atheist is definitely the wrong term. Is there a right one?

I don't believe we have that word, unless you use something like heretic ( a professed believer who maintains religious opinions contrary to those accepted by his or her church or rejects doctrines prescribed by that church) or recusant (one who refuses to obey the authority of the church) . We have these: atheist - someone who believes that *** does not exist agnostic - someone who believes that it is not possible to know whether *** exists or not

Hi

This is a good question. I don't think there is an exact word. I might say. .

- I am a deist, but I am not religious

This may mean..

- It seems obvious to me that *** exists, but I don't feel the need to follow an organised religion

Regards, Dave
