Im perplexed..help

Is this school far away here?
No, it's only ___walk.

A. twenty minutes B. a twenty minutes

C. a twenty-minute D. twenty minute's

Please help me with the correct answer and some reasons for that answer?

I chose answer c. a twenty-munite but I'm still not clear about it.

"C" is correct. (a twenty-minute walk)

The bold part is used as adjective to modofy the "walk". Notice there is no "s" in "minute" because when it's used as adjective, the plural form of the noun is never used.

i.e. The movie was three-hour long

He went on a seven-day cruise to the Carribbean.
