I'm not sure this sound correct.

I could use some help writing the better.
Can you tell me what to correct?

The higher up you live in a building the hotter it is. The law stands true until you get the thinner parts of the atmosphere such as the peaks of mountains or in the clouds where airplanes fly their course where it's the exact opposite; it is freezing cold.
