I'm not just flattering you

A: I've been to the hairdresser's.
B: Well, it really looks terrific.
A: Well, I'm still not wearing all my makeup.
B: You don't need any makeup, Frankie. You look wonderful,
just the way you are. I mean marvelous, stunning, gorgeous.
A: flatterer.
B: Pardon?
A: I called you a flatterer. To flatter someone is to keep giving them
compliments; to keep on saying that they look gorgeous and stunning and so on.
B: Oh, but it is true. It really is true. I'm not just giving you compliments.
And I'm not just flattering you. Your husband is a lucky man.
