I'm not going to respect him

"I'm 15 minutes older than him, but now I'm younger because of my heart (transplant) and I'm not going to respect him," Alfred said with a grin, pointing to his twin brother while talking to a roomful of reporters, who laughed frequently at their jokes.

Hi,

Is there a special meaning attached to "I'm not going to respect him" in the above? Thanks.

Probably nothing more than a simple jab at the "respect your elders" lecture most parents force feed their children (and that I know force feed mine!!)
