I'm looking forward to/ hoping to question

Hi folks, I'm bit confused about this one.

The correct form of the sentence is:
I'm looking forward to meeting you.

But what if I use hoping instead of looking forward?
I'm hoping to meet you?
I'm hoping to meeting you? ( I think this one is wrong, but can someone explain me why)

hi ,
The first sentence is correct " I'm hoping to meet you . " , you know because we don't use ing form after the preposition "to" in this case " hoping " or any verb except some irregular expressions we must add ing form after it such as " look forward to ~ , be used to ~ , in addition to ~ , object to , prefer ( doing something to doing something else ) " ...
