I'm having tense problems and help understanding

Is there a difference here and is one correct and not the other?

1 Train A was pulling in while train B was pulling in.

2 Train A pulled in while train B was pulling in.

Which is correct please?

Why can't the train ever pull in as/while I get there.

Why can't the train ever pull in as/while I'm getting there.

Why can't I ever get there as/while the train pulls in.

Why can't I ever get there as/while the train is pulling in.

Do these 2 sentences mean the same thing?

Train A pulls in while train B is pulling in. = Train B has started pulling in when train A pulls in.

Train B pulls in while train A is pulling in. = Train A has started pulling in when train B pulls in.

Thank you so much
