I'm gone

A: Did you talk to Miranda? She may know something.
B: I'm gone.

I think "I'm gone" indicates the complete condition.
So I'd like to know why "I'm gone" is used, not "I am going/ I will go."
Thank you in advance for your help.

It's a slang-y way of saying I will go immediately . I don''t hear it said very much.

I read it the way Clive did. I'm so eager to ask her that I'm leaving immediately to do so.
Context would tell.
