I'm going to get him./vs./ I'm getting him

A: Hello may I talk to Jim please?
B: Just a moment, I …….. him.

a)get
b)'ll get (Answer Key)
c)am getting
d)am going to get

Hello,
I say to myself that option D should be the answer not option B. Because we usually use "will" for far future but "going to" to near future. That's why I say D is correct.Option C also looks fine to me.

Would you please tell me why D and C do not work? I'm confused.

Thank you.

sb70012 Would you please tell me why D and C do not work? They are not the standard expression. The 'will' future is the rote response for such a telephone conversation: it is a simple statement of future fact.
