I'm confused!

Such luck!
In my mailbox today:

... you have therefore been approved for a lump sum pay out of 2,000,000,000 (EUROS ) (TWO MILLION EUROS) CONGRATULATIONS!!!
My question how big a receptacle should I bring? Big enough to fit 2,000,000,000 euros or just a measly million of them?

Anyway, that's a lot to carry all the way from Amsterdam. I think I'll forgo the whole thing.

Skitt (in SF Bay Area) http://www.geocities.com/opus731/ I speak English well I learn it from a book!

I know. My previous attempts to get them to send me a cashier's check for just ten thousand dollars, or so, to help me with my immediate expenses and to show their earnestness and good will, have met

The problem is, my efforts to get an advance large enough to do that have been ignored. Heck, if they'd just send me a cashier's check for only a quarter of the prize, I'd be willing to

Those are European millions. People keep claiming that European billions have a few extra zeros, so why shouldn't their millions?

I think the idea is that you have to have one to enlarge in the first place.

Not really, for then it would have been

2.000.000.000.000 euros. But of course Skitt may have translated.
Seems unlikely

Nope. Remember Canter & Siegel, the first unrepentant Usenet spammers? Their market excluded* Americans they were after people who *wanted to emigrate to the US.
